Dragonfly Lore

Four Dragonflies

A good example of sexual dimorphism. The blue of the male probably attracts the more drab female (laying eggs).

Tandem Twosome

Notice the tip of the female's abdomen. It's just under the surface, dropping eggs that will hatch out into fierce dragonfly nymphs, capable of ripping small fish and tadpoles apart in short order.
