As I approach this gator and heron, I'm not concentrating on the heron...
Moments from River Patrol on the Silver River (in Silver Springs Florida, next to Ocala) where I am one of many CSO volunteers. This amazing, spring-fed river is now threatened more than during any other time during since it's rebirth more than 12,000 years ago at the end of the last ice age. Let's all work hard to cherish and protect it for our grandchildren!

Close Enough
Tough Life
This juvenile might be reflecting about the burden of having a tumor on the side of his face. These monkeys are now completely wild and trapping them to treat an illness is tough.
More likely they will be trapped to be sold for research. The ones used to feeding are easier to trap, so if you don't enjoy the thought of the Rhesus Monkey being tortured in a lab, DON'T FEED THEM.
