Moments from River Patrol on the Silver River (in Silver Springs Florida, next to Ocala) where I am one of many CSO volunteers. This amazing, spring-fed river is now threatened more than during any other time during since it's rebirth more than 12,000 years ago at the end of the last ice age. Let's all work hard to cherish and protect it for our grandchildren!

A few common sights, cruising the River on a beautiful day.
Moving down the new "Paddle Trail" in the canal. Off limits to all but human powered vessels. |
One of th largest "common' snapping turtles I've seen. As large as some of his "alligator snapper" cousins! |
This cormorant has obviously bitten off more than he can chew! Or in this case swallow whole. |
Quiet grooming time for these Rhesus Monkeys. |
Volunteer Mark, doing his job. |
