Moments from River Patrol on the Silver River (in Silver Springs Florida, next to Ocala) where I am one of many CSO volunteers.
This amazing, spring-fed river is now threatened more than during any other time during since it's rebirth more than 12,000 years ago at the end of the last ice age.
Let's all work hard to cherish and protect it for our grandchildren!
This little guys says, "I claim this box", but can he keep it? We're hoping that he will stay, but every year a pair of Eastern Bluebirds fights it out with the Tree Swallows for nesting box space... and the tree swallows usually win.
