Moments from River Patrol on the Silver River (in Silver Springs Florida, next to Ocala) where I am one of many CSO volunteers. This amazing, spring-fed river is now threatened more than during any other time during since it's rebirth more than 12,000 years ago at the end of the last ice age. Let's all work hard to cherish and protect it for our grandchildren!

The tide has retreated from the mouth of the bay of La Canche (le Touquet, France) and the ocean is no where in sight. In a few hours all that you see in this image, except for the background and blowing sea grasses, will be under water. By then the two lovers will, hopefully, be somewhere else! The sea returns very fast here (like le Mont-Saint-Michel) and it's risky to venture too far out.
