This amazing, spring-fed river is now threatened more than during any other time during since it's rebirth more than 12,000 years ago at the end of the last ice age.
Let's all work hard to cherish and protect it for our grandchildren!
Perhaps this snapping turtle was migrating from one pond to another. That's the only reason I can find to explain its presence on land in the cold of late Fall, long after the egg laying season.
